The SPLIF Short Film Festival is a non-profit independent project that has developed steadily as a platform for independent WA filmmakers since 2001. It has co-ordinated many micro-cinema screenings in venues through out Perth and regional WA and has featured as part of Revelation Perth International Film Festival since 2003.

SPLIF encourages input by new and emerging filmmakers who create films that that are Low budget and High adventure and expose this work to people who are seeking an alternative film viewing experience. Festival Director Ivan Borgnino has been cultivating alternative screen culture in Perth since 2001. He has no previous film background or university degree and is not an academic, so he’s perfect for MUFF. When he was a boy he entered the wrong cinema and saw 2001 a Space Odyssey. The rest, as they say, is history.

This 2-hour program is a retrospective collection of some of the coolest short films SPLIF has screened from 2001 to 2007.
