CHARLES MANSON: JOURNEY INTO EVIL

Prod. Alan Goldberg | 1995 | USA | 43 min | VHS

Produced for cable television, Journey Into Evil provides a fairly concise (though predictably one-sided) overview of the Manson mythos. While sticking to the widely-accepted versions of events, Journey Into Evil does a commendable job of tracing Manson’s life from birth through today, concentrating naturally on the murders and the hypnotic power and influence which he wielded over his Family. Includes then-current interviews with Manson and Lynette ‘Squeaky’ Fromme (jailed for the attempted assassination of President Ford and still completely devoted to the cause), along with interviews with convicted killers Patricia Krenwinkel and Leslie Van Houten, who describe their role in the killings in horrific yet almost eloquent detail, and express their remorse over their involvement (along with chastising their former leader for not accepting his share of responsibility for the crimes).

Monday July 12th 7pm F4.
Screens with Rivals: Manson vs. Bugliosi.

“When I stand on the mountain and say ‘Do it!’, it gets done. If it don’t get done, then I’ll move on it…..and that’s the last thing in the world you want me to do.” – Charles Manson 1994
