What “Network” did for journalism, “Wrong is Right” does for the world of politics and terrorism. The story takes time to focus on the exploits of globe trotting journalist Patrick Hale (played with perverse zeal by Sean Connery) as he becomes embroiled in a story of a crazed Arab terrorist determined to buy Suitcase size nuclear bombs. In the eighties with the Cold War on this film would not have seemed so timely, but today the film is totally fucking prophetic! Flick features an Osama Bin Laden style mad Arab, a mad General Wombat who reminds us of Donald “Rummy” Rumsfeld and a scathing portrait of media and its complicity in all the fear and war hysteria that is, let’s face, the reality of today. Check out this prophetic 80’s classic while you still can... if you know what I mean.
